Courage is taking action in the face of fear.
There are many different types of courage that can be pondered over, and explained in many different ways...Physical, Social, Intellectual, Moral, Emotional, Spiritual, Disciplined, Empathetic, and the list goes on. One thing that all types of courage have in common is they involve acting or taking action.
The opportunity for courage shows up in your points of choice. When a fear has arisen, or you observe an injustice, or your humanity is being called upon, or you are being pulled from within, you are being asked to act courageously.
You have been given the ability to access and use your powerful inner light to serve all parts of yourself and those around you. No matter what kind of courage you are being asked to exhibit, you must access and use it, or suffer the consequences.
You, as you are now, are both a physical and spiritual being. Your physical body is, of course, a temporary vessel that will be used and eventually discarded. Physical courage usually shows up with the fight or flight response, when you are put in a situation where you have to use your body to act. Neither fight nor flight is right or wrong independent of a situation. You will make the decision to be physically courageous in the moment and then your body will carry out the action.
Emotional courage is in a bit more of a grey area. You are a physical human being with an emotional body. Pure energetic beings do not “feel” the same way humans do. Emotional courage starts with the courage to feel in the first place, and when you give yourself that opportunity, it can lead to wonderful discoveries and, of course, new and better actions.
Intellectual courage involves the engagement of your mind for elevation. It works to remove the societal or conditioned thoughts that may be hindering you, and open up your mind. With the many barriers, tricks and manipulation tools the mind possesses this can sometimes prove to be a very difficult practice. The courage to think bigger. The courage to think brighter.
As humans we have one major thing in common… humanity. We need each other. We long for attachment, support and love, and this is not a bad thing… It’s a human thing.
You may find yourself in a place to physically defend another. You may find yourself called to stand up for someone on a moral level using your integrity. You may find yourself experiencing an onslaught of emotions connected to another and feel drawn to empathize with them, or show them compassion.
Sometimes it’s necessary to take up for someone else, to use your courage to step in and protect them, to support them no matter what, and to honor the bond that exists between the two of you, human to human.
The infinite part of you that will go on forever, that never really fades, and never truly darkens requires your decision for courage too.
Intuitive courage is what Spirit calls being lead, and it involves being connected, aware, receiving and acting upon divine transmissions while paying attention to signs, messages, and most of all your inner compass to guide you to the next best decision.
Sometimes your intuitive guidance will make sense to your mind, and other times you will be asked to blindly trust. Taking action based on your intuition is always courageous and always right.
Passionate courage, when presented, often paralyses the mind to begin with, and then sends it into major defense mode. Passion cannot be measured or logically analyzed… really… and your mind doesn’t understand what to do with it. It’s something that comes from within, and is usually directly connected to your purpose here on this earth.
It takes divine courage to act with passion and purpose, and to step onto the path that leads you through your life discovering who you truly are, why you’re truly here, and how you can serve both yourself and the bigger whole.
It is so important to remember that no one but you can make the choice to act in your life. No other person or divine force can take away your power to decide. You are the one who will choose to harness your courage and act in alignment with it, and that’s what makes it so powerful.
